Project in Progress
Altos is a sculptural wind and shade canopy wrapping around and into the lobby of a large mixed-use building in San Francisco. The exterior cloud-like form is constructed out of hundreds of differently-shaped aluminum fins. This fluid form is suspended above the sidewalk and helps give definition to the corner public space and subway entrance. Floating above the lobby’s corner entry is a dramatic vortex of slender aluminum anodized colored fins. This dynamic storm of blue metal creates a dramatic and animated ceiling for the public space and lobby below.
